Stephen Pettitt was born in Johannesburg in 1996. After matriculating from Dainfern College in 2014, he began his Bachelor of Journalism at Rhodes University in 2015 and immediately joined Grocott’s Mail Sport and Rhodes Music Radio.
His passion for sport was evident from a young age and the decision to pursue a career in journalism grew from a desire to be part of the professional sports scene. He is currently a tutor in the Grocott’s Mail Sport section, writes copy for both the digital and print versions and produces and hosts the weekly sports show on Rhodes Music Radio.
After obtaining his degree, Stephen is hoping to return to Johannesburg and pursue a career in sports presenting, either on radio or on television. An avid Lions rugby and Manchester United football fan, Stephen is usually to be found attached to a TV watching whatever sport there is on offer when not taking part in varsity sport himself.
