Muhammed Haron is a Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Botswana’s Theology & Religious Studies Department. He is also an Associate Researcher at the University of Stellenbosch.

Haron is editor of the University of Cape Town’s Annual Review of Islam in Africa (ARIA) and the Editor-in-Chief of Duke University’s Research Africa Reviews (RA Reviews). Haron compiled the award winning text: South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission: An Annotated Bibliography (New York: Nova Science, 2009). He co-edited Islamic Civilization in Southern Africa (Istanbul: IRCICA, 2009) and Muslim Higher Education in Postcolonial Africa (London: Palgrave, 2016) respectively; and he edited N. Chand’s Bechuanaland’s Muslim Pioneers: Their Heritage and Legacies (Gaborone: BMA, 2018) and authored Connecting South-South Communities: Narrating the Tales of South Africa-Malaysia Relations (Newcastle: Cambridge Scholars Publishers, 2018).
