Every day reveals another possibility

Ongeziwe Babane is a final year Language Practice student, school of communication sciences at Central University of Technology (CUT) in the Free State.

She grew up on the banks of Tsitsa river at Qumbu in the Eastern Cape.

In 2012 she worked at Umtata Fever Publications, a community newspaper, now known as Express News, as a Journalist intern. The following year she volunteered at Qumbu magistrate’s court as an intern court interpreter. She says:
“I wanted to gain some experience and see how things were, if I decided to take that route in my career.”

Ongeziwe is a former editor in chief of Speculum Newspaper, a campus publication at CUT. She is an outgoing house committee member at Huis Welgemoed and has engaged in many activities on campus, including being treasurer of the Methodist Students Society.

She received a merit award for being the most dedicated student in the faculty.

“I have big love for writing and reporting. After I’ve completed my studies at CUT, I’m planning to do a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Media Studies at Rhodes University. Through God, I believe that everything is possible. My motto in life says, everyday reveals another possibility. With the life that God has granted me, I want to make the best out of it,” says Ongeziwe.
