Shepi Mati

Shepi Mati is a multimedia content producer, trainer and researcher with extensive experience in community media in Southern Africa. For eleven years he worked as a producer and then manager of Democracy Radio, an in-house production and training project at the Institute for Democracy in South Africa (IDASA). He led a team of producers and trainers producing a weekly current affairs programme and providing training to a network of 65 community radio station partners nationwide. He has worked as a freelancer for public broadcasters (SABC, BBC and Deutsche Welle International among others) and has taught broadcast journalism at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. His experience extends to organisational development consultancy and facilitation and adult learning curriculum development and facilitation. He is based in Cape Town, South Africa, but travels regularly throughout the region.
